Source text - Spanish IV.
Translation - English IV. Major challenges for ethnic and gender inequalities reduction and MOD (Millennium Objectives Development) achievement in Bolivia.
Christian Jett鬠UNDP (United Nations Development Program) governability specialist
According to a recent ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean) publication, Bolivia is one the countries with broader income distribution inequalities in the American continent. This inequality is accentuated on the income levels of rural and urban sectors. A 60% of the extremely poor population live in rural areas and there is still a larger proportion of extreme child poverty in respect of the general population.
In all the countries in the region there is a close relation between poverty and ethnicity, however, in the case of Bolivia, the ratio is of 2:1 between indigenous and non-indigenous. This information has lead to initiate studies in the fields of demographics and ethnic-linguistic conditions. The Latin American and global debate, indicates that there is no unanimous criteria to define an indigenous population but a tendency to combine both objective aspects (such as language and place of residence) and subjective aspects criteria, regarding the ways people are perceived and defined.
In the 2001 census, three questions were formulated concerning these matters. Data obtained show that there are several different criteria used to define who is an indigenous and who is not. There are also a large number of categories and levels of identification. This opens a great discussion about another subject: miscegenation. Nevertheless, in a similar manner, the present social indicators show conditions of inequality and discrimination in accordance with ethnicity and gender.

English to Spanish: Grant application essay
Source text - English The objective of Proyecto Gente y Ambiente is to ensure the sustainability and viability of the aquatic resources of Punta Rusia. To do this, the youth of the community need to 1) learn how to protect the reef and estuary, 2) create environmentally sound tourist opportunities, and 3) utilize alternative methods and techniques for fishing. Each of these activities has a clear method that will both engage and benefit the youth of Punta Rusia.
1) Coral Reef protection. Coral Reefs can only be protected by constant vigilance. Experts from the John Pennecamp Coral Reef State Park in Florida have been invited to train the youth of the Punta Rusia community on how to be underwater police. With the proper equipment and training, two or three youth will help educate tourists on the importance of protecting the reefs and will accompany all tourist groups diving at the reef and enforce the laws. Many times simply having someone watching will prevent tourists from breaking off pieces or collecting precious organisms. The local government representative for bio-diversity in the area fully supports this program.
2) Creating environmentally sound tourist opportunities. The youth of Punta Rusia are anxious to develop a more environmentally sound method of water tourism through the use of glass bottom boats. FUNDEMUS has already secured the support of Mel’s Tours Company of Puerto Plata to bring tourists to Punta Rusia for Eco-tours. Fishing boats can easily be converted to glass bottoms so the fishermen of the village will finally have a way to benefit from the massive tourism already coming to their village. This method is so safe for the environment that the fishermen can even offer tours to the part of the reef closed to tourists.
3) Utilize alternative fishing methods and practices. Finally, the next generation of Punta Rusia fishermen must have alternatives to spear fishing if the ecosystem is to survive. Proyecto Gente y Ambiente will introduce fishermen to lobster and crab trap fishing (which allows undersize shellfish to get away or be returned and does not kill during the catching) and initiate an experiment on the long-term viability of fish trapping in the Punta Rusia waters.

Spanish to English: Incident management process - IT
Translation - English Classification and Initial support
The incident must be classified, since following resolution actions will be based upon this classification.
The activities covered by this process are the following:
• Classifying the incident.
• Comparing the incident with other recognized problems and errors.
• Inform to the problems management group about new possible problems, multiple incidents or those not registered in the known errors database.
• Defining incident priority through the assignment of impact and urgency.
• Revealing the details related to the assets configuration and analyzing deviations in respect of the information content in the CMDB.
• Closing the incidents or referring them to the support specialist group and notifying the final users.
As a result of this process, the following must be obtained:
• RFC (Request for Comments) for incidents resolution.
• Incidents updated with all the details.
• Alternative way for mitigating the incident or its derivate.
'Classification' is the process of identifying the reason of the incident occurrence, to then continue with the corresponding resolution actions.
Regularly, many incidents are confronted for which the actions for its resolution are already known. However, this is not always the case, therefore, it is necessary to employ a comparison procedure against the known problems and errors database.
A successful comparison enables the access to checked resolution actions, which requires no additional investigative effort.
Incidents classification is one of the most important aspects in the incident management, being, in turn, one of the most difficult processes to carry on correctly.
The classification is carried out to:
• Relate the incident with the impacted service.
• Associate the incident to the SLO.
• Select or define the best specialists group to handle the incident.
• Identify the priority, based on the impact to the business.
• Define what questions must be formulated or what information must be verified.
• Determine a primary report matrix for the management of the information.
• Identify a way of comparison against known errors and solutions.
When the incidents are classified, the most information possible should be provided. The information that contributes to the equivalence search process includes:
• Details of the incident symptoms.
• Initial categorization of the incident.
• Details of the associated CIs.
• Impact to the business.

Source text - English EVALUATION OBSERVATIONS:
Luis is a sweet and friendly student who was cooperative throughout the evaluation. An interpreter was present during all testing activities and all directions and questions were translated into Spanish, although Luis chose to respond in English. Luis did not always appear to understand item directions and he had great difficulty on memory tasks requiring him to recite presented number and letter sequences in reverse order. He could repeat them in forward order, but seemed unable to grasp the concept of saying them backward. Luis is very shy and often did not respond to questions asked by the examiner, instead he often grinned and looked from the examiner to the interpreter, shaking his head or providing no other response. The examiner often prompted him to say he wasn't sure when he did not know an answer, but he continued to be silent. It is not clear whether these behaviors were the result of a lack of English vocabulary to respond, delays in academic or speech/language development, or if they were out of shyness. Due Luis' unwillingness or inability to respond to test items on the Verbal Comprehension and Working Memory subtests, they are not deemed to be a reliable measure of his skills and will not be reported-
As Luis has only been exposed to the English language in the school environment and English is not the primary language spoken in the home, there axe concerns for the accuracy of the test results. In addition, any deviation from standardized procedures, such as the presence of an interpreter, lowers the validity of the test results. Research studies have found that in U.S. schools where all instruction is given through the second language (English), non-native speakers of English with no schooling in their first language take 7 to 10 years or more to reach age and grade-level norms of their native English-speaking peers. Therefore, results of the evaluation should be interpreted with caution and his ESOL status should be considered when making educational decisions based upon the findings.

5) Assignors and Assignee agree that this Assignment shall inure to the benefit of, and shall be binding upon, the parties hereto and their legatees, distributees, estates, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns, all other legal representatives or entities in which the parties hold any interest or position.
6) Each provision of this Assignment shall be considered severable and if for any reason any provision or provisions hereof are determined to be invalid and contrary to existing or future law, in any jurisdiction in which this Assignment may be subject to interpretation, such invalidity shall not impair the operation or affect those portions of this Assignment which are valid; this Assignment shall remain in full force and effect and shall be construed and enforced in all respects as if such invalid or unenforceable provision or provisions had been omitted. Furthermore, in lieu of any such illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision, there shall be added automatically as part of this Agreement a provision as similar in terms to such illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision as may be possible and be legal, valid or enforceable.
