I have translated a huge pile of technical texts, which would amount to millions of words. My specialty fields are mechanical engineering, environmental technologies & environmental protection, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, green heat & power, automotive engineering, and construction machinery. Perfect terminology and refined style are my challenges in technical translation.
My background
My first steps into the translation business during the late 1980's were supported by my mother, a linguist and technical translator. I finished my studies of mechanical engineering at the University of Ljubljana in 1990, specializing in energy and process techniques. After that I started to work as a sales engineer for an international trading company. In 1996 I switched to the newly established Environmental Fund of Slovenia where I led a World Bank Project for 2 years and the Fund's environmental project support division for almost 10 years. In August 2008 I decided to have spent enough time in the banking business and continued as a translator, finally commiting fully to technical translation. I've been involved in management and technical consulting, which is what I am best at, second to translation of course.
