I am a bilingual translator (English/Spanish), specialised in Medical and Legal texts, although I consider and translate work in many other areas.
I have a First Class Honours B.A degree in Modern Iberian and Latin American Studies (MILARS) from King's College, University of London and was a selected scholarship candidate for a PHD in Latin American Studies by Institute of Latin American Studies.
I worked in banking technology (specialising in dealing room systems) for 11 years, both in London and Madrid. In 1995 I moved to Majorca and began working as a freelance translator. I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (London) - Membership Nº 018089.
I absolutely love my work and I have attained various levels of proficiency in other languages such as Portuguese (part of my University degree course and summer course in Lisbon), Italian (studied Italian whilst in secondary education), French (course for foreigners at the University of Avignon) and Catalan (the language spoken in the Balearic Islands).
I am a perfectionist, achieve very fast turnaround times and can count on many good references throughout the marketplace that I can provide on request. |
