This booklet should be read before installation
Principles of Operation
Please ensure all relevant personnel read the points listed below before installation of the pump.
Application
The XXXX XXXX bilge pump is designed to pump standing water when installed through the bulkhead (see fig.1 below). Output capacity depends on installation conditions and pumping rate.
WARNING: Capacity may not be sufficient to cope with a rapid influx of water.
With all applications it is important that a system of safe working practice is applied to installation, use and maintenance.
If this pump is intended for use for any other purpose outside of the stated guidelines or with any other liquid, it is the user's responsibility to ensure that the pump is suitable for the intended use, and in particular that the materials are fully compatible with the liquids to be used.

Installation
1. Ensure that there is enough room behind the bulkhead for full depth of the pump when installed. This must include space for inlet and outlet hoses. (See Fig. 2 for maximum dimensions).

2. Ensure that enough space is available when the pump is installed in order to operate it with the pump handle fully open.
(See fig 3 for recommended mounting positions).
Mounting
1. Select a suitable flat location on the bulkhead and cut out a circular hole
diameter 140mm (5½")
2. Place pump through hole and push into position. Either pushing up or down depending on mounting orientation (see fig 4a and b)

3. Ensure that the mounting wedge is fully engaged with the bulkhead.
4. Open handle and mark the position of the 2 fixing screw holes on the bulkhead (see fig.5)

5. Remove pump and drill 2 holes at these marked positions See table below for recommended screw holes and sizes:

6 Place pump in position and attach to bulkhead using 2 self tapping screws
Plumbing
1. Attach inlet/outlet hoses to appropriate elbow at the rear of the pump with
stainless steel worm drive clips.
Note:
Both inlet and outlet elbows can be attached to either port. It is very important that the correct valve is installed with the correct port (see fig. 6) See icon on side of each port to confirm the correct valve has been installed with correct port (flat valve on inlet and tricuspid valve on outlet).
2. It is recommended that the inlet and outlet hoses are restrained a minimum of 300mm (11 ¾") away from the pump to avoid undue stress on the inlet and
outlet ports.
For installations where it is necessary to remove elbows before plumbing, the following additional steps are required:
3. The elbows can be removed and hoses attached prior to installation by turning the elbows to a point where the outlet/inlet elbow directly faces the other elbow and then pulling out. See fig. 7
4. If the elbows have been removed, re-attach simply by pressing the elbow into its correct port till it "clicks" into place.

Performance data is based on factory test at specified lift and head and is typical of what may reasonably be achieved. Actual performance may vary depending on installation and operating conditions.
Operation
1. To operate the pump, open the cover by gripping the handle.
2. The pump is then ready for instant operation.
3. After use, push firmly to lock the handle in the closed position.
Maintenance
Regular inspection of the pump is recommended. Rubber components should be replaced if worn or every three years. *Use only warm soapy water when cleaning. Service kit number - AK5010.
Replacing the Diaphragm
1. Press out hinge pin in illustrated direction using appropriate force (then slide off handle). Care should be taken to keep the retaining washer in a safe place. (see fig. 8)

2. Remove pump from bulkhead by removing mounting screws and disconnecting mounting wedge (see fig 5)
3. Remove holding screw (see fig.9)

4. Rotate the front of the pump anticlockwise until it reaches a stop (approx. 35 degrees) and lift off front part of the pump body.
5. The diaphragm can now be removed.
6. To install the new diaphragm ensure it is placed in the correct location (See fig.8). A small amount of lubricant (vegetable oil) applied to the edge of the diaphragm may ease installation.
7. Once replacement diagram is installed, reattach the front of the pump and rotate clockwise until it reaches a stop (approx. 35 degrees) .
8. Reattach the handle by reconnecting the hinge, pressing the pin through the retaining washer (See fig. 8)
9. Remount the pump as per previous mounting instructions.

Replacing Valves
1. Remove pump from bulkhead by unscrewing mounting screws and
disconnecting mounting wedge.
2. Disconnect hose from elbows.
3. Remove elbows from ports as shown in Fig.7
4. It is very important that the elbows are reinstalled with the correct valves inside the correct ports (see fig 6).
5. To reinstall the elbow after replacing the valve simply press the elbows into the ports till they "click" into place.
Winterisation: To avoid damage as a result of freezing, drain all water in the pipework and pump chamber.

Användning

installation
Se till att det finns tillräckligt med rum bakom skottet för pumpens hela djup när den är installerad. Detta måste inkludera utrymme för in- och utloppsslangar. (Se fig. 2 för maximala dimensioner).

Innan installationen fortsätter
2. Se till att det finns tillräckligt med utrymme när pumpen är installerad för att använda den med pumphandtaget helt öppet.
(Se fig. 3 för rekommenderade monteringslägen).
Montering
1. Välj ett lämpligt plant läge på skottet och skär ut ett cirkelformat hål med 140mm (5½") diameter.
2. För pumpen genom hålet och tryck den i rätt läge. Tryck upp eller ner beroende på monteringsriktning.

3. Se till att monteringskilen sitter helt an mot skottet.
4. Lyft upp handtaget och markera läget för de 2 hålen för fästbultarna på skottet (se fig. 5)

5. Ta bort pumpen och borra 2 hål vid dessa markeringar. Se tabell nedan för rekommenderade skruvhål och storlekar:

6. Placera pumpen i läge och fäst på skottet med 2 självgängande skruvar.
Slangdragning
1. Sätt fast in/utloppsslangarna på lämplig rörböj på baksidan av pumpen med hjälp av rostfria slangklämmor.
Observera:
Både in- och utloppsböjarna kan anslutas till bägge röröppningarna. Det är mycket viktigt att rätt ventil installeras i rätt röröppning (se fig. 6). Se symbol på sidan av varje röröppning för att kontrollera att rätt ventil har installerats i rätt röröppning (klaffventil på inloppet och trikuspidal- ventil på utloppet).

2. Det är rekommenderat att inlopps- och utloppsslangarna inte fästes närmare än 300mm (11 ¾") från pumpen, för att undvika onödiga påfrestningar på ut- och inloppsöppningarna.
För installationer där det är nödvändigt att ta bort rörböjar innan slangdragning krävs följande extra steg:
3. Rörböjarna kan tas bort och slangar sättas fast innan installationen genom att vrida rörböjarna till ett läge där ut/inloppsböjen pekar mot den andra rörböjen och sedan dra utåt. Se fig. 7
4. Om rörböjarna tagits bort sätter man tillbaka dem enkelt genom att trycka in rörböjen i dess rätta öppning tills den ”klickar” i läge.

Prestanda baseras på fabrikstest vid specificerad lyft och höjd och är typiska för vad som rimligen kan uppnås. Faktiska prestanda kan variera beroende på installations- och driftförhållanden.
Användning
1. För att använda pumpen öppnar man locket genom att ta tag i handtaget.
2. Pumpen är nu klar att användas
3. Efter användning trycker man till handtaget för att låsa det i stängt läge.
Underhåll
Återkommande inspektion av pumpen rekommenderas. Gummidelar bör bytas ut om de är slitna, eller efter vart tredje år. *Använd endast varmt tvålvatten vid rengöring.

Byte av membran
1. Tryck ut gångjärnssprinten i visad riktning (dra sedan av handtaget). Se till att förvara spännbrickan på en säker plats (se fig. 8).

2. Ta bort pumpen från skottet genom att ta bort monteringsskruvarna och monteringskilen (see fig 5)
3. Ta bort fästskruven (se fig.9)

4. Vrid framsidan av pumpen moturs till det tar stopp (cirka 35 grader) och lyft av pumpens framdel.
5. Membranet kan nu tas bort.
6. Se till att det nya membranet är rätt placerat (See fig.8). Lite smörjmedel (vegetabilisk olja) kan underlätta installationen.
7. Sätt tillbaka pumpens framdel när ersättningsmembranet monterats och vrid medurs till det tar stopp (cirka 35 grader).
8. Sätt tillbaka handtaget genom att sätta tillbaka gångjärnet och trycka sprinten genom spännbrickan (se fig. 8)
9. Montera pumpen igen enligt tidigare monteringsanvisningar.

2. Koppla bort slangarna från krökarna.
3. Ta bort krökarna från öppningarna enligt fig. 7
4. Det är mycket viktigt att krökarna monteras tillbaka med rätt ventiler i rätt öppningar (se fig 6).
5. För att montera kröken efter att ha bytt ventilen trycker man bara in krökarna i öppningarna tills de ”klickar” i läge.
Vinterförberedelser: Töm ut allt vatten i slangarna och pumpa ur kammaren för att undvika frysskador.
