I am a British and Irish sworn translator appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and founder of Leon Hunter SL, a translation company established in Madrid in 2007. I provide sworn translations between Spanish and English for companies, law firms, universities and private clients.

For more than twenty years I have specialised exclusively in Spanish-English sworn, legal and financial translation. I work directly with law firms, companies, notaries, universities and private clients, providing accurate translations of documents intended for use before courts, public authorities, professional regulators and international institutions.

My areas of expertise include contracts, corporate documentation, notarial deeds, court documents, commercial registry records, financial statements, tax documentation, academic records and documents required for immigration and professional registration abroad.

I hold the Diploma in Translation (DipTrans) awarded by the Institute of Linguists (now CIOL), specialising in Legal, Technical and General Translation. In addition to my work as a translator, I have experience as a linguistic coordinator, reviewer and mentor for junior translators.

One aspect of my work that I particularly enjoy is reproducing the layout of complex legal and academic documents so that the translation closely reflects the original. I also have a strong interest in comparative legal terminology and in the documentary requirements of professional regulators and public authorities in different countries.

I work exclusively between Spanish and English, allowing me to maintain a high level of specialisation and consistency across all assignments.

Although English is my native language, I have lived in Spain for over three decades and work professionally in both English and Spanish on a daily basis.
