Note: I no longer work for agencies or project managers outside of the USA

Hello,

I am a Hmong interpreter/translator out of California in the United States. I am a Registered Court Interpreter with the State of California, Judicial Council and thus qualified to interpret and translate in all California courts. Currently, I am employed as a permanent full-time Hmong Interpreter/Translator with the Superior Court of California, Fresno County and have been in this capacity since 2003. I interpret and translate on a daily basis and handle over one thousand case events per year. As a Registered Court Interpreter, I am trained with and follow the Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility for Interpreters set forth by the courts of the State of California. As part of my Registered Interpreter status I am required to and thus maintain court approved continuing education relating to interpreting.

Additionally, I have been certified by Language Learning Enterprises, CyraCom, State of New Jersey, NCSC - Consortium and have passed the Hmong linguist exam with the Federal Bureau of Investigations - DOJ. Currently, I am one of a handful of Hmong language consultants trained and qualified to work with a national testing organization. I am a native Hmong speaker and have an accent free command of both English and Hmong. I have spoken both languages for over 40 years.

During my time off, I have done freelance interpreting and translation work with public relations/media agencies, law offices, appellate attorneys, energy and utility companies, marketing and advertising firms, HMO's, agriculture businesses, insurance agencies, medical offices, public/government offices, universities and school districts, casinos, labor unions, financial institutions, health insurance companies, food production companies, herbal product businesses, human resource offices and non-profit social services groups. I have worked with over two dozen language agencies located all over the globe to provide translation/interpreting services and have averaged about 200,000 translated words per year.

I have a BA in Psychology, another BA in Philosophy - Law Option and 35 units of graduate law courses. I have taken college level Hmong language courses, college level Hmong culture courses, and college level advance Hmong writing courses. I can furnish upon request my resume and references for recent translating and interpreting work. Please visit my Willingness to Work Again feedback on Proz.com and feel free to contact the Blueboard outsourcers about my performance.

On a personal note, I enjoy baseball, kajukenbo, guitar playing, action photography, being involved with Little League Baseball, and a children's classic rock band.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile. I would love the opportunity to assist your agency with my services if you should ever need a Hmong interpreter, translator, language consultant or broker.

Best regards,

S.Cha
