1. Definition of the nuclear industry
The nuclear industry is defined as:

Nuclear fuel reprocessing.

2. Capped exposure
There is a cap on exposure (financing limits) to the primary nuclear sector. The cap is set to reflect the Group’s appetite for nuclear industry exposure to companies undertaking higher risk nuclear related activities and acts as a control mechanism. The cap is currently set at £5billion. See section 9 for more details on the cap.
3. Monitored exposure
Exposure (financing limits) to the nuclear industry that does not fall under the primary sector cap falls under the monitored category. The monitored category does not have a limit on exposure, however, it is not considered to be non-risk.

Source text - English The Europe Programme, established in the mid 1990s, was one of ARTICLE 19’s first regional programmes. Today, our work includes activities in Russia, Western CIS (Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine), the South Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan), Central Asia and Turkey.
The collapse of the communist block was followed by a wave of deregulation and liberalisation: the 1990s was a decade of ‘transition’, during which substantial democratic reforms were initiated, considerably improving civil liberties such as freedom of expression and information.
Over the past few years, however, the post-communist elites have consolidated their power and, in many countries, a form of semi-democracy has emerged, where human rights and democratic values are laid down in law but in practice are routinely ignored. Private media exists but in many countries is dominated by pro-government views. Where non-government media are well established, they are often not independent from the private commercial or political agendas of their owners. Elections are held but – particularly in the former Soviet Union – are often flawed. Many governments have committed to principles of open and transparent governance through the creation of freedom of information legislation but are implementing it poorly or not at all.

Source text - English Trading group VVVV has continued to narrow the focus of its business: three of its five production companies have been sold. The business is divided into three divisions: Retail (small scale shops incl. gastronomy and book outlets in German railway stations), Trade (distribution and marketing of consumer goods) and Media (wholesale of media products). The Convenience segment is being expanded within the core Kiosk business. After replacing the old team in spring 2008 after pressure from shareholders, the new board of directors and top management have no intention of tinkering with the company’s new structure. Strengthening profitability is a priority, and from 2009 the company intends to grow through acquisitions. Its long-term turnover objective is SFr. 4 billion. This will require acquisitions, as in its present form the company is not capable of achieving such scale. Good prospects are seen in the retail trade in Switzerland and internationally, as well as in the media sector. VVVV will pay close attention to profitable growth, aiming for an EBIT margin of 3%.
VVVV was able to close out 2007 satisfactorily with a good second half of the year. However, a profit collapse in the first semester had earlier caused unrest among shareholders and board members. The target of a 3% operating margin was no longer realistic and had to be revised. Ultimately an EBIT margin of 2% was achieved. Earlier estimates had even referred to 4% as a guideline. The new management expect growth in turnover of between 3 and 5% in the next three years, which is ambitious in the retail trade. After the sell-offs have been concluded, the Retail division will contribute around 60% of the Group’s earnings. The aim as far as EBIT is concerned is annual growth of 10 to 15%. Profitability in the retail area is ripe for improvement. These figures should provide turnover of SFr. 3.1 to 3.25 billion and an operating profit of SFr. 75 to 80 million in 2010. In 2008 the sell-offs contributed SFr. 10 to 20 million accounting profit. The share buyback will increase earnings per share by 15%.
