I hardly ever translate for remuneration, so does that make me an amateur? Well, with any luck only in the sense of "enthusiast".

When I do do translation or copy-editing work I certainly attempt a professional result which meets my own and the client's high standards.

I often need or am interested in translations of words or concepts because I write in both languages and I like to keep my own vocabulary as comprehensive as possible.
For this reason I am still (in my mid-50s) a "student" on this site.

However, although I don't earn enough by translating to pay a subscription, I aim to contríbute my time and my ideas.
