I am a medical doctor (retired) graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (Puebla, Mexico) and have lived and worked in Mexico since 1978. Additionally, I hold a BS and MS (abd) in Human Development from the University of California at Davis. I have done freelance editing in English since the early 1970's and have done Spanish-English translations since 1978. I have worked as Coordinator of Translations for the Colegio de Puebla translating UNESCO educational planning texts and am currently under contract with the Centro de Traducciones de Volkswagen de Mexico where I primarily translate contracts and other legal documents. I have also worked for individual professors at the University of the Americas - Puebla translating research articles for publication in English language professional journals. My rates depend entirely on the complexity of the material to be translated and the degree of urgency of the job. Less rushed = lower cost. I prefer not to translate for more than 4 hours per day as I believe this produces better results. I will accept payment in Mexican pesos or in US dollars payable to accounts in Mexico or the US respectively. |
