In the early days, the main goal of hydraulic fracturing operations in Russia was directed towards by-passing near wellbore damage. Typical fracturing treatments used a crosslinked polymer based gel as carrier fluid to place 5-20 MT of proppant into the formation. Since the results were very promising a new phase started, whereby “real” production enhancement treatments achieving skins of well beyond -4 were pumped with proppant volumes between 50 to over 100 MT.
Looking at the Russian oil production at that time it became apparent that the hydraulic fracturing technology together with drilling horizontal wells added a significant amount of production and as such became very important for the Russian economy.
Now the optimization process started. Quality control in the field became mandatory together with an enhanced focus on health, safety and environment. Service companies focused on cleaner fluids with less polymer loadings and better breaker systems. Prejob, on-the-job and postjob quality control procedures were developed specifically for the Russian environment and reached a standard like anywhere else in the world. The number of unwanted screenouts was reduced significantly by following proper perforating practices and optimizing the treatments designs real time. The new goal was clearly a negative skin of -5, and the design process was optimized to achieve this number by designing each job to achieve optimum production for the given reservoir parameters, in particular permeability. Treatments of 300-400 MT are not uncommon these days for low permeability reservoirs with a large reservoir height sometimes covering several zones.
This lead to the next optimization process that is ongoing currently. Since many sandstone reservoirs in particular in Siberia are laminated the vertical permeability is often an order of magnitude or more lower as compared to the horizontal permeability. Therefore horizontal wells several times did not yield the expected results. Hydraulic fracturing treatments placed in the horizontal wellbore can be the solution for further production optimization. This paper will describe also several techniques how this can be established.
Hydraulic Fracturing in general includes Propped Hydraulic Fracturing in both oil and gas reservoirs, as well as Carbonate Fracture Acidizing. This paper will discuss only propped hydraulic fracturing in oil reservoirs. Covering propped hydraulic fracturing in gas reservoirs although still at infant level would certainly reveal enough material for a paper on its own, carbonate fracture acidizing is not being used frequently.
Introduction
In 2009, the oil and gas industry will celebrate 60 years of hydraulic fracturing. On a cold March morning of 1949, a team comprised of Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Company and Stanolind Oil Company personnel assembled at a well site near Duncan, Oklahoma, U.S.A., to make oilfield history by performing the first commercial hydraulic fracturing treatment. Tens of thousands of wells have been treated using this technology and several improvements have been made since in the western world. But what about developments in Russia?

При проведении операций по гидравлическому разрыву пластов (ГРП) в России основные усилия ранее были направлены на то, чтобы обойти повреждения околоствольной зоны. Для обработки ГРП обычно использовался гель на основе сшитого полимера, служивший в качестве жидкости-носителя для переноса в пласт 5-20 метрических тонн проппанта. Поскольку результаты были весьма многообещающими, начался новый этап, в ходе которого проводилась обработка, «реально» повышающая нефтеотдачу пласта. В этих операциях при значении скин-фактора, достигающем -4 и ниже, количество закачиваемого проппанта варьировалось от 50 до более чем 100 метрических тонн.
Анализируя добычу нефти в России в этот период, можно с очевидностью заметить, что технология гидравлического разрыва пластов в сочетании с бурением горизонтальных скважин внесла существенный вклад в объем добычи и в этом качестве приобрела очень важное значение для экономики России.
Сейчас начался процесс оптимизации. Придание обязательного характера контролю качества выполнения работ произошло на фоне повышения требований, предъявляемых к охране здоровья, технике безопасности и защите окружающей среды. Сервисные компании стали использовать более чистые жидкости с меньшим содержанием полимеров и более эффективные разжижители геля. Специально для российских условий разработаны процедуры контроля качества до, в ходе и после проведения работ, объединенные – как и везде в мире – в стандарт. Число нежелательных случаев раннего выпадения расклинивающего агента из жидкости разрыва было значительно уменьшено благодаря использованию подходящих методов перфорации и оптимизации дизайна ГРП в режиме реального времени. Новой целью стала величина отрицательного скин-фактора, равная -5; для достижения этой величины методика дизайна была оптимизирована посредством ориентирования каждой операции на достижение оптимального дебита при заданных параметрах коллектора и конкретной проницаемости. В настоящее время нередки случаи закачки 300-400 метрических тонн в ходе обработки коллекторов с низкой проницаемостью - при том, что большие коллекторы иногда охватывают по вертикали несколько зон.
Следствием этого является очередной этап процесса оптимизации, проходящий в настоящее время. Поскольку многие песчаные коллекторы, в частности, в Сибири, являются многослойными, вертикальная проницаемость имеет по сравнению с горизонтальной такой же или меньший порядок величины. Следовательно, дебит горизонтальных скважин ниже ожидаемых результатов в несколько раз. Решением для дальнейшей оптимизации добычи может служить обработка ГРП, проведенная в горизонтальных скважинах. В настоящей статье, кроме прочего, описано несколько методик ее проведения.
В общем случае, гидравлический разрыв пластов включает создание трещин, заполненных проппантом, как в нефтяных, так и в газовых коллекторах, а также кислотный гидроразрыв карбонатных коллекторов. В данной статье обсуждается проппантный ГРП в нефтяных коллекторах. Освещение вопросов проппантного ГРП в газовых коллекторах, хоть и находящегося пока в зачаточном состоянии, очевидно, могло бы выявить достаточно материала для написания статьи, тогда как кислотный гидроразрыв карбонатных коллекторов используется не слишком часто.

The Environmental Action Plan will be agreed between the Bank and the Borrower prior to the signing of the Loan Agreement and, once agreed between the Bank and the Borrower, may be amended only with the prior written consent of the Bank.
PRINCIPAL TERMS OF THE LOAN
Amount and Currency:

Suspension and Cancellation
