Bio

Freelance, sworn translator Dutch <> Spanish since 2005 (credentials: Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Madrid, http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Portal/es/ServiciosAlCiudadano/Paginas/Traductoresas.aspx).

I finished (March 2021) a huge translation project of 4,6 million words (27 books of the same author), which took me and another translator 7 years to complete.

From 1990 to 2001, I worked as a news journalist in Madrid at various TV stations: as a reporter, editor and finally as anchorman. Born in Holland (1964), I moved in 1983 to Madrid. There I studied Modern and Contemporary History, followed by a Master in Journalism at El País newspaper.

By 1990 I started also translating professionally.

I focus on freelance, sworn and not sworn translations, literary and not literary. From 2014 to 2016 I lived in Mexico City. My home is now in Asturias (northern Spain).
