- German native speaker, born and raised in Germany.
- Long term stay in France from 1996 to 2001, then return to Germany.
- 1996-1998: Studies of "Applied Languages" (LEA - langues étrangères appliquées; English - Catalan) at Perpignan University, South of France;
1998: DEUG – Diplôme d’Études Universitaires Générales (2nd year university diploma) in Applied English and Catalan.
- 1998-2001: Studies of "Translation" (German - French - English) at École Supérieure d'Interprètes et de Traducteurs (ÉSIT) in Paris, France;
2001: DESS – Diplôme d’Études Supérieures Spécialisées (postgraduate diploma) and Master's Degree, Mention bien (upper second honours degree), in Translation (German – French – English).
- 2000: Internship (eight weeks) as translator at the German Federal Office of Languages (Bundessprachenamt) in Hürth, Germany.
- Many years of experience as a technical translator translating from French, English and Catalan.
