I majored in the English language and graduated from Hanoi University of Foreign Studies, English Faculty in 2001. Right after graduation I worked as interpreter/translator for a National Highway project, which was completed in three years. Subsequently, I worked as interpreter/translator cum Project Manager Assistant for Bai Chay Bridge Project, constructing, not the biggest, but one of the longest spanned cable stayed bridge in South East Asia. The main span stretched over more than 450 m over the river mouth. The project was undertaken by Shimizu Corporation in association with Sumitomo Mitsui, two of the biggest constructors in Japan and was completed successfully in three years. Upon completion of the Bai Chay project, I had worked as a freelance translator for about eight months and mainly translated bidding documents for construction projects, including National Highway No. 54 rehabilitation projects in Mekong Delta, Highway No 1 Project, some other building projects and most recently bidding document for various packages under Phan Ri – Phan Thiet Irrigation Project which is located around 200km from Saigon. I worked as a translator for Phase I Feasible Study of Phan Ri – Phan Thiet Irrigation Project funded by the JBIC for one year.
During this time, I was interested in learning another major, and Finance and Banking had been my choice. Since I could not attend a full-time bachelor degree nor afford a part-time degree in Finance offered by foreign owned school I started with a higher Diploma in Accounting and advance to ACCA for which no compulsory class attendance was required. My ACCA is expected to be completed in two and a half years.
