I am an
experienced – full-time self-employed Italian native translator since 1981,
undertaking almost all kinds of work, principally technical documentation
(manuals, patents, specifications) and legal documents (contracts, power of
attorney, memoranda), also corporate literature (websites, press releases,
advertising copy) for clients in the industrial and manufacturing sector
(engineering, automotive, agricultural, construction, power generation,
woodworking, furniture, food, pharmaceuticals, etc.), and a variety of general
interest subjects (cuisine, travel, sports, leisure activities). 35
years of experience in the technical, legal and financial fields. Reliability
and quality assurance are the keys to my mindset.  

After
obtaining a diploma in industrial mechanics, I graduated in foreign languages
(Russian, English and French) at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. Then I
worked four years as a public relations manager in a leading company producing
turn key plants for the ceramic industry before moving to Britain, where I
worked and studied for two years, obtaining the Certificate of Proficiency in
English (Grade A). In 1980, I came back to Venice and set up a translation
company specialising in technical subjects, particularly mechanical engineering
and maritime law, given the presence of Marghera, Venice's commercial port.

I've also
collaborated for a long period with CVN, the State Concessionaire for the
defence of Venice from high waters and restoration of the balance of ecosystems
in the lagoon. The translation of thousands of pages of literature on the
subject has enabled me to build up an in-depth knowledge of environmental
protection themes (above all, in wetlands) and the sophisticated technologies
associated with the project to close the lagoon mouths with mobile buoyancy
gates (MOSE). The more than fifteen-year long collaboration with the world
famous textile group Benetton has enabled me to develop a detailed knowledge of
not just the textile sector, but also business, economics and finance. Benetton
is a shareholder in some hundred or so companies throughout the world and has
its own financial holding company. I also specialise in the field of
climatisation and heating appliances, high-pressure water jet equipment
(motorised sweepers and pumps of the IP Cleaning brand) and household
appliances of all kinds (De Longhi group brand).

Since 1981, I
have been registered with the Court of Venice as a consultant for sworn
translations.
