I grew up in South Africa with two mother tongues, German and English, and am proficient in both, with a usable knowledge of French, Afrikaans, Latin and Zulu. Because I originally studied Optometry and also worked in this field, I am familiar with medical terminology.
I have also been doing freelance translations for many years now. As a sworn translator, I have been active as court interpreter in Swiss courts and asylum offices, interpreting mainly African delinquents and asylum seekers. Proofreading, teaching English for adults and writing are further occupations I have been busy with from time to time.
