People are a vital component of any warehousing operation. The quantity, roles, and capacity of your staff will determine the productivity of the warehouse overall. Determining the right number of staff for your warehouse is required for maximizing operational efficiency and cost effectiveness. Regardless of whether your warehouse has 2 staff or 60 staff, each team member must fully understand his/her roles and responsibilities and how s/he fits into the larger team. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for determining the training needs of the warehouse staff and organizing routine trainings as needed. PSI recommends that platforms conduct annual refresher trainings for warehouse staff to address any capacity gaps. Training topics may include standard operating procedures, cleaning, maintenance, safety, security, and incident reporting. Preferably, the immunity-provoking agent is a vaccine for a single-stranded RNA virus and more preferably, the immunity-provoking agent is an inactivated polio vaccine.
