Гамеланг
Гамеланг – как море – без начала,
Гамеланг – как ветер – без конца.
Стройная яванка танцевала,
Не меняя бледного лица.
Гибкая, как эта вот лиана,
Пряная, как губы орхидей,
Нежная, как лотос средь тумана,
Что чуть-чуть раскрылась для страстей.
В пляске повторяющейся – руки,
Сеть прядет движением руки,
Гамеланга жалуются звуки,
В зыбком лете вьются светляки.
Над водой, где лотос закачался,
Обвенчался с светляком светляк,
Разошелся, снова повстречался –
Свет и мрак, и свет, и свет, и мрак.
Ход созвездий к полночи откинут,
В полночь засвечается вулкан.
Неужели звуки эти минут?
В этой пляске сказка вещих стран.
За горой звенит металл певучий,
Срыв глухой и тонкая струна.
Гамеланг – как смерть сама – тягучий,
Гамеланг – колодец снов, без дна.

Gamelan - bak laut - tak berhujung,
Gamelan - bak bayu - tak habis.
Meronggenglah gadis Jawa ramping
Dengan wajah pucat dan manis.
Lemah longlai tiada tara lagi,
Harumnya rempah bibir anggerik,
Halusnya seroja embun pagi
Yang dibuka bagi berahi tak serik.
Dalam tarian berulang – tangan
Merajat-rajut jaringan gerak,
Kunang-kunang riang beterbangan,
Gamelan buat jantungku berdetak.
Di tempat seroja bergoyangan
Kunang-kunang sama bertunang
Berpisah, semula bersayangan -
Terang-gelap-terang-gelap-terang.
Gugus bintang tuju tengah malam,
Tengah malam ada api di gunung.
Bynyi itu masakan menghilang?
Tari dongeng buat terpegun.
Di balik gunung bersahut-sahut
Bunyi logam, tali yang tipis.
Gamelan - kental bagaikan maut
Gamelan - perigi mimpi tak habis.

Dr. Victor A. Pogadaev is an Associated Professor at the Faculty of Languages & Linguistics, University of Malaya. He graduated from Institute of Oriental Languages, Moscow Lomonosov State University in 1970 and got Ph.D in 1976. He used to be a Senior Lecturer in Malay Studies at the Institute of Asian and African Studies and the consultant-editor of the " Encyclopaedia Asiatica" at the Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Science. His interest is in the sphere of culture, translation and lexicography. He offers papers on Russian language and Russian culture and general linguistics. He has more than 150 publications including several Malay and Indonesian dictionaries. Member of Nusantara Society, Russian Orientalists’ Association, Journalist Union of Russia, Russian Geographic Society.
