English: I was doing a Ph.D in linguistics (Medieval French) until April 2007 when I started working full time in subtitling (TV and DVD's). Next to my studies I've been working as a language trainer (English/Danish), a freelance translator (main fields literary, human sciences tourism, technical and since April 2007 subtitling) and interpreter (for the French Police and county court).
I'm fluent in three languages : Danish (mothertongue), French (ten years of studies in French linguistics and 14 years living in the country) and English (Irish stepfather since the age of three).
I'm dynamic, hardworking and creative. Translating has over the years become more of a passion to me than a job.
Français : J'étais doctorante en linguistique jusqu'en avril 2007 quand j'ai commencé à travailler plein temps dans le sous-titrage (télévision et DVD). Parallèle à mes études j'ai enseigné l'anglais et le danois pendant 8 ans, travaillé en tant que traductrice freelance (sciences humaines, poésie, tourisme et sous-titrage) et fonctionné comme interprète (anglais, danois) pour le Tribunal de Grande Instance de Paris et dans les commissariats.
Je maitrise trois langues : Le danois (langue maternelle), l'anglais (langue quasi maternelle car élevée par un beau père irlandais depuis l'âge de 3 ans) et le français (J'ai étudié en français et vécu en France depuis plus de 14 ans).
Je suis quelqu'un de dynamique, de travailleur et dotée d'un bon sens créatif.
La traduction est devenue une véritable passion plus qu'un simple travail pour moi.
