Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope you will find what you are looking for.
I am a native French speaker from France but I have been living in various parts of the UK for over 13 years. I am based in Manchester, where I completed a Masters in Interpreting and Translating (English and French) in 2006-2008. The services I offer include conference and public service interpreting (French <> English), translation (English > French) and proofreading (French > French).
I started working as a public services interpreter in 2003, when I joined the team of freelancers at the City Council of Nottingham. Since then, I have also completed many conference interpreting assignments both nationally and internationally and have developed confidence in and knowledge about themes such as the environment, EU policies or agriculture.
Moreover, I have delivered translations projects related to cinema, housing, finance as well as health and safety amongst others. I have experience of proofreading technical translations, mainly regarding furniture and cosmetics.
You will also see from my CV that I graduated with a 2:1 BA Hons in 'English with French' (mainly entailing Literature, Linguistics and History). I then completed a PGCE (in Modern Foreign Languages) and worked as a secondary school teacher in London, before deciding to study and practise Interpreting and Translating at postgraduate level.
I would be delighted to discuss my profile further in the view to working with you in the future.
