My name is Irina. I have a degree in Linguistics. Since graduating in 2001 I have acquired great experience in translations and translation project management.
I started my career at the Small Business Support Agency at Chamber of Commerce and Industry as an office-manager, further being promoted to the position of the project manager (EN-RU translations, areas: business-plans and legal texts).
Later I took up an opportunity to work as an interpreter and further on a marketing manager. My responsibilities included various administrative duties, business correspondence and negotiating (in English).
As for my translator's activities, I worked as an Interpreter/Content-Operator in Russian-American company (Edu-Data). My duties in the company included interpreting, translating (education, IT), arranging of sound recording sessions, assistance to marketing manager.
While working at Ectaco, Inc. (www.ectaco.com) I managed correspondence for sales department and worked with linguistic content (dictionaries, phrasebooks), contacted native speakers and arranged the schedule within current projects.
I’m currently working full-time at the Benevox GmbH translations agency. My position of a Project Manager involves administrative activities and language practice. I'm in charge of the automotive translations department. I'm arranging testing and selection of freelancers, project scheduling, resource planning, etc.
I have had much freelance practice. The subject areas I specialize in are tourism (tour&excursions in St.Petersburg and the suburbs), real estate (leaflets, correspondence), legal (contracts), IT (manuals), marketing (research), business correspondence (import-export negotiations).
I have finished my studies at the tourist guide courses arranged by Benoit travel agency and have been licensed to guide in St.Petersburg and its suburbs.
I regard it as my strength being a sociable, open-minded person, constantly improving and striving to learn more from various resources (learning from books as well from people and experience). I have a great tolerance and endurance potential which I consider essential for a translator and a tourist guide.
