Source text - English The Chaco Basin is an intra‐cratonic foreland basin located between the Andes Ranges to the west and the Brazilian shield to the northeast (Fig.3). The basin is very large, covering over 60% of Paraguay, and extends into Bolivia on the west and north sides, and into Argentina on the south and east sides. The basin is asymmetrical, plunging into Bolivia, leaving the shallowest portions in Paraguay
Translation - Spanish El Chaco es una cuenca intracratónica de antepaís ubicada entre la Cordillera de los Andes al oeste y el Escudo Brasileño al noreste (Fig.3). La cuenca es muy extensa, cubriendo a Paraguay en más de un 60% y extendiéndose hacia Bolivia por el oeste y por el norte, y hacia Argentina por el sur y por el este. La cuenca es asimétrica, precipitándose hacia Bolivia, con sus porciones más someras ubicadas en Paraguay.
