Bio
My name is Lidia Lewandowska-Nayar. I have 20 years of experience as a translator and an interpreter. I hold a postgraduate diploma in legal and business translations from the Institute of Applied Linguistics, Warsaw University and postgraduate Public Relations diploma from the Main School of Commerce (SGH) in Warsaw. I also studied Oriental Philology at the Warsaw University and completed many upgrading courses, including a course in the Royal Courts of Justice in London and a weekly refreshing course for translators held by the British Council.
I am a qualified member of TEPIS.

From 1989 to 2000 I worked full-time as a translator and interpreter for the Turkish Embassy and the United Nations Development Program. I also did a lot of extra work for private customers including Citibank, Allen & Overy, National Labour Inspectorate and leading translation agencies. In 2000 I started to work as a freelancer. In recent years I have been considerably involved in translating and revising EU acquis communautaire into Polish. Another big project of mine was translating the whole training material of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) for lead auditors of quality management systems plus interpreting during training sessions and evaluation missions.

I can guarantee a high level of professionalism, timeliness and accuracy. My asset is also high typing speed (+60 wpm without looking at the keyboard), which facilitates my work a great deal.

I am willing to take both oral and written translations, as I am a good, communicative speaker and I like to be a part of a thriving business environment.

A few examples from my portfolio:

Written:
Various types of contracts and agreements
Resolutions of management boards and supervisory boards of banks and companies
Minutes of general and extraordinary meetings of shareholders
Balance-sheets, profit and loss accounts, consolidated financial statements of publicly listed companies
Chart of Accounts for the National Bank of Poland
Audit reports
Translation and revisions of acquis communautaire for the European Commission (8000 pages)
Minutes of sessions of the European Parliament
Training materials of the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM)

Oral:
Translation during the EFQM evaluation mission in Powogaz, Poznań (EFQM excellence award)
Translation during training for lead auditors of EFQM
Negotiations of loan agreements (for Allen & Overy)
Translation during the ceremony in the Jewish school in Warsaw
Translation for Turkish diplomats during official meetings (Embassy of Turkey)
Keywords: Law, commerce, EU law, finance, banking, financial reports, quality management, ecology. Fast, accurate flexible, communicative. Competitive prices.
