Heidi Kerschl FITI is a highly experienced technical translator from English to German. After graduating as a translator and interpreter in Munich, Heidi worked in the marketing departments of Bayer, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, and Lotus Development, then a cutting edge software development company. Before resuming her career as a freelance translator in 2006, Heidi worked for 6 years as a director of a translation company, and therefore understands what clients expect and require from translators and interpreters. Throughout all her career, Heidi has been very active in translator and interpreter training as a guest speaker at conferences. She organises training events, teaches on the ITI SUFT course and lectures at the universities of Salford and Manchester. Heidi has a diploma in marketing, passed the ITI Membership Exam in 1992, was appointed a Fellow of the Institute in 2013, and currently chairs the North West Translators Network (NWTN).
