Areas of expertise
I started translating in the late 1990s as part of my job in a law firm. I currently focus my practice on the translation of legal, medical and financial documents (including contracts, medical records, GDPR documentation, IPO and fund prospectuses, KIIDs and PRIIP KIDs, annual and quarterly reports) but I am also skilled at drafting and translating marketing copy. My book translations include a legal commentary on the Swedish Patient Insurance Act (from Swedish to English).

Authorisations
I am a state authorised translator from Swedish to English and from English to Swedish (authorisation issued by Kammarkollegiet, the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency).

Languages
As a bilingual translator, I focus on qualitative translations from Swedish into British English and vice versa. On occasion, I also translate from French/Norwegian/Danish into Swedish/English.

Professional experience
After five years of law studies at the Gothenburg School of Economics and Law, I spent six years working as a paralegal in a US law firm in Brussels and London. I then decided to move in a different direction and spent the following three years working with marketing and business development in the City of London. I later spent two years working as a Project Manager and Deputy Operations Manager at a Swedish communications agency with a focus on translation projects. I now run my own small business, Jolianna Communications AB, with translations as one of the focal areas.
