Bio
I started my career as a freelance translator 2011. Since then, I have worked with a lot of agencies and clients all over the world. The fields of expertise are Legal (agreement, MoU...), Marketing (survey, press release...), IT (UI, software...), Medical (clinical trial, informed consent...), Education (e-learning, early childhood evaluation...), Tourism (hotel portfolio...), etc. I do Japanese-into-English translations as well as English-into-Japanese translations on a regular basis. I use some CAT tools such as Trados, Phrase, memoq, SmartCat, etc. if instructed by the relevant outsourcers to use.
In the last few years, I have shifted to post-edition and review of the translations generated by AI and prepared by other linguists, although I deal with 100%-human translations.
I do not use AI unless specifically requested to do so, but I believe we can sustainably cooperate with AI.
I am based in Japan, but nearly all of the outsourcers I work with are located overseas, so I have done all from customer acquisition and cost/delivery negotiation from after-delivery support and invoicing/payment management in English in addition to providing top quality products.
My approach in delivering outstanding work is based on my prior experience living overseas. I have seen a lot of non-Japanese people trying to speak/understand the Japanese language well. Even matters quite natural to me (as a native Japanese) may be hard to comprehend for others. Then, I focus on creating easy-to-read/understand text with a view on how the text prepared by me would be perceived by others.
And, I value the established relationship with my regular outsourcers and would strengthen them and actively seek new encounters.
I look forward to developing new and sustainable cooperations.
