Translation - English 03:01:38 DALAI LAMA: The conceptual mind, i.e. the mind endowed with a non-sensory consciousness is devoid of reality. And so are the various mental defilements that are false by their very nature. Analytically, objects aren't established objectively in and of themselves, but they do exist indeed. Secondly the inner conscious mind has many levels, and those levels are absolutely vast. Even when we consider the physical aggregates
03:02:08 for minute and detailed studies, these are found to be made of billions of coarse and subtle particles. Likewise when we look into our inner consciousness, these are again broken into their own gross and subtle levels and for which there are appropriate objects and have different ways in which they engage their objects. Then the consciousness itself has its natural endowments that are classified as both gross and subtle.
03:02:38 When we go in-depth, we find a particularized nature of consciousness [in every being]. And there are many kinds of it as well. All these particularized consciousnesses have a luminous and clear nature. And it [clarity and luminosity] applies to all. So because of this luminous nature, the ultimate truth has to be the fundamental or primordial wisdom. Thus when one understands the nature of primordial wisdom, the rousing of the [negative] mental factors at any moment of time can be suppressed. The possibility of the emergence of obscurations
03:03:08 and mental defilements can be once again be suppressed. When the consciousness is defiled, it is a momentary phenomena. The tantric practice of Guruyoga has the potential of converting the primordial wisdom into the Nothingness . With regard to that many expositions exist, hence,
03:03:38 the term bodi or byan-chub [altruistic intention] has a vast meaning in itself. Byan means that which can be purified and eliminated, and chub means the intrinsic nature of wisdom. Yang dakpa [State of being purified] is primordial and, in the state of clear light, is being explained as such. If the causes of contradiction on the primordial wisdom are abandoned, the resolution of the same will be arrived at, and a total elimination of them reached, the potentiality of primordial wisdom will become spontaneous.

exceeds expectations
Once a тАШshelf fillerтАЩ in the Co-op and now a
university graduate, Gillian CurtisтАЩ story of
ambition and determination is an
inspirational example of how it is possible
to achieve more than is expected.
Gillian Curtis worked hard and diligently for
eight years during the mid 1970s as a Sales
Assistant at her local Co-op filling shelves in the
food hall. However by the time Gillian left the
Co-op she had happily progressed to become a
checkout operator of a manual till where
(unlike the tills in supermarkets today) she was
required to calculate the customers change
in her head.
This is an example that Gillian tells to show
how on many occasions throughout her life,
her capabilities were frustratingly overlooked
and recalls how her determination has never let
challenges hold her back.
In July Gillian attended her graduation
ceremony at Hull City Hall in celebration of her
seven years study towards the achievement of
her Bachelor of Arts with honours degree from
the University of Hull - despite as a young child
receiving a school testimonial stating that she was
тАШnot academic and would not cope with anything
other than regular routineтАЩ which Gillian said
тАШat the time was like a red rag to a bullтАЩ.
After over 20 years work in the voluntary
sector, Gillian achieved a number of formal
qualifications including RSA Stage 1 in
Typewriting, National Vocational Qualifications
level 3 in Business Administration, and
Information Technology and a Teachers City
and Guilds. Now she has a degree with
honours to add to the list!
To obtain the degree in Social and
Community Studies Gillian studied Race,
Gender and Society, Economic Community
Development, Community Health and finished
her degree with a dissertation on Participation,
Planning and Practice in Sheltered Housing

Swan in Fife, Scotland dies with H5N1 bird flu virus infection
April 6, 2006
It has been confirmed that tests done on a dead Mute Swan found in the village of Cellardyke in Fife, Scotland has tested positive for the deadly strain of H5N1 Bird Flu virus.
The swan is believed to have been native to Scotland.
Two other swans found in Richmond Park in Glasgow are being tested for the H5N1 virus.
They are among at least 14 other dead birds and 12 more swans found in Glasgow, that are being tested for the H5N1 virus.
This is the United Kingdom's first confirmed case of the H5N1 virus and would make the U.K. the 14th country to report the virus.
"The risk to humans has not changed by the fact that we have found the virus in the U.K..
There is a better chance of a person winning the national lottery than catching bird flu in the U.K. today," said Doctor Jim Robertson from the National Institutes for Biological Standards and Control in a press conference.
"We also have to work on the assumption that there is some spread among wild birds.
There is no doubt we are getting closer to the day when moving birds indoors will be necessary," said former President of the British Veterinary Association, Bob McCracken.
"The situation is that the virus is there, and it will probably continue to circulate among the birds.
It will spread through close contact, irrespective of species. There is one big question mark: Will the virus disappear from wild birds after a period of six months, or will it still be present after a period of six years?" added McCracken.
McCracken also said that the virus could turn up in more birds saying, "I would start from the assumption that a small pool of wild birds in the Fife area are infected and potentially passing it on to other birds" and that seagulls could pose a threat of passing on the virus because they have been known to peck at the bodies of other dead birds that were infected.
"We have to assume that," he said.
In a statement by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, released yesterday, the Scottish Executive confirmed that a "highly pathogenic H5 avian flu" virus was found in a sample taken from the dead swan.
The swan was discovered March 29, 2006 and has been confirmed as a domestic species and officials say that it may have caught the virus from another infected bird.

Information about
this peculiar
language-combination: I began my march of life with Kashmiri as my mother-tongue; the medium of education in the beginning was Urdu, which is the official language in Jammu and Kashmir. Being a singer and lover of poetry, I managed to become skilled in this language when I was a youth. Hindi being the national language of India as well as the "religious/cultural" language of the Hindus, I acquired competence in it out of sheer devotion. English being the medium of Higher Education, international language and the medium through which I acquired most of my stock and store, there aren't too many native Britishers or Americans that can stand higher than me in dexterity over this language. I have devoted my life to studies, for I wanted to (dedicate my life or) lead the world to its much needed change, and establish a better world for everyone, the higher world of the wise that could only be brought into being through a direly needed revolution, and though I couldn't change to yellow even a single leaf of the evergreen tree of wretchedness, inhumanity, brutality, bestiality, rabid selfishness, wars, etc.тАФfor the presidents, prime ministers, cabinet members, kings, queens, princes and courtiers of donkeys, goats, jackalsтАж scoundrels, imbeciles and idiots keep on ruling the world, and self-righteously and shamelessly admiring their "civilized beauty" while looking at their faces in the mirror of NarcissismтАФmy personal capability accrued. I have been living in Nepal for the last twenty-seven years; and Nepali, Hindi and Urdu are complimentary to one another. The knowledge of these three sister-languages bestows me a good vocabulary and expression in terms of language-skill.
