My name is Larry Salas, and I have been a freelance translator since 2004. I was born and raised in the Dutch Antilles (Curacao). I am a native speaker of English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamentu/o (a Creole language based on Spanish/Portuguese).
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in economics and computer science from Brandeis University in the United States in 1981. After over 20 years of business experience, I put my subject-matter expertise and multilingual ability to use as a translator specializing in translating from Dutch, Papiamentu and Spanish into English.
I am passionate about languages and (multicultural/multiethnic) communication. I offer services which include translation (including DTP) of documents, localization of documents and graphics, software and websites. I also help clients with their translation processes and maximizing interactions with LSPs.
Projects I have completed include:
- Standardized IT Exams
- Bank loan agreements
- Company Prospectuses and Annual Reports
- Specialized magazine articles
- Questionnaires
- Tourist brochures
I live in the Northeastern U.S., just 25 miles North of Boston, Massachusetts with my wife, Kathleen, and two little children (Fiona, 11 and Benjamin,9) who are already displaying a talent for languages and the gift of gab.
