Bio
A native Spanish translator from Mallorca, who lived in rainy London for nearly 12 years, I work with English, Spanish and Catalan languages. I hold a BA in Translation and Interpreting (2004) and a MA in Audiovisual Translation (2015). From 2005 until 2008, I worked as a Spanish QA Localisation Lead for a videogames company (Eidos). For this role, I was acting as a Project Coordinator, leading projects with a team of, at least, 4 language-skilled members. Thanks to this experience, I acquired plenty of knowledge about and experience in both video games and Localisation. This is one of the reasons why I specialise in Video Games, Software, Websites, Multimedia and IT. During my MA, I also learnt and improved my previously-acquired skills in Subtitling, Dubbing and Audiodescription.

On the other hand, I studied 3 years of Business Studies and I am a Sworn Translator (title issued by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs). This gave me enough knowledge to specialised myself in Economics, Marketing, Legal and Corporate translation. Literature translation is another of the subject of interest, as I love reading books (both in English and Spanish). Same applies to photography and gastronomy: they are two of my hobbies. Finally, I also have experience doing Medical, Journalism and Technical translations.

On top of my experience as a translator, I must stand out my knowledge and experience obtained working in the video game industry, which gave me the opportunity not only to acquire expertise and a wide range of skills in checking standards for main platform holders (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo), but also gain interest and understanding of quality assurance, testing and anything related to the game industry. A couple of years later, I also worked in the online gaming and betting gaming industries, and I work as a contractor testing websites and mobile applications.

But my professional life is not only about translating and proofreading: I have also been working as a freelance Project Manager since 2009, providing multi-lingual translations to my clients and helping them and their products reach many corners of the world. Since 2013, I put together two of my passions: video game localisation and teaching, as started teaching at an online course in Video Game Localisation (at AulaSIC). Besides, last year I started collaborating with the SELM in teaching Video Game Localisation at their Master's Degrees.

I would love to be involved in any kind of project that could help me learn more not only about this amazing job that is translating but also about anything that a good translation could bring me. Learn with experience, learn through life.
