English by birth but Italian at heart, I began my professional life in the world of entertainment and became a translator over thirty years ago. A love of language and learning make me the ideal provider of linguistic services across a number of fields. Working with translation agencies over the years has taken me into a wide range of business sectors, ranging from technical to artistic. legal to medical, with (fortunately) a lot of easier general business and journalistic translation too, but the majority of my private clients commission me for work in food and wine, tourism, art and art history, finance, website translation and subtitling for use in reels and video interviews. Being located in Alba, at the heart of the Barolo wine production zone, but within easy driving distance of Turin and Milan, positions me perfectly to assist clients not only online but also on site, to help out when a physical presence is essential. Most of my interpreting experience is with professionals in the wine industry (journalists, winemakers and buyers) and in the art world (galleries based in Italy and curators from all over the world) but I do work with tourists on a more occasional basis. My origins on the stage as a professional entertainer give me the skills necessary to speak in public, on stage, with a microphone without difficulty and also to handle any difficulties that may arise during business meetings, with diplomacy and elegance.
