Translation - English Confusing Eating Behavior of Modern People: Hours in Queuing, Minutes on Eating
One has to feel at peace, for such a priority, eating worth waiting, as an approach to improve patience.
Not many consumers would like to waste their time in a queue. A survey done by iResearch, a leading provider of online audience measurement and consumer insights in China showed, among all the respondents, only 3.2% of them spend more than an hour in queuing to get seated. Most of the respondents, however held their patience in half hour exclusively. people are happy with spending precious time of their own on meaningless queuing. Only 3.2% of customers think queuing time more than 1 hour is acceptable, while most of them would be annoyed when they have to wait for more than half hour, as the data collected by iResearch (a leading provider of online audience measurement and consumer insights in China) indicates.
Half hour may seem short but when a half hour is taken from all customers, the number would be stunning. Thanks to the internet, modern people have been provided with multiple alternatives for their free hours. With so many options available for them, modern people however would find it barely impossible to keep themselves engaged at simply one aim.
The half-hour waiting time is a time period when we may easily feel empty if we don’t keep ourselves busy. The scenarios is more or like a the commute time we spend on subways, during which though our attention is supposed to be paid on subway stop only, now that the trip is long and uninspiring we have to scroll our cellphone screens and wear earphones to make a little fun for ourselves. Being aware of the fact that the consumers would not stay still. It will be an absolute niche business if a restaurant manages to chain the customers to its nearby or to the shopping mall during their half-hour waiting time regardless of the fact that customers would not stay around the restaurant as they would expect. At just the right time, the business of waiting lines sprouts.
English to Chinese: PED: Is it time to eliminate it from US herds? General field: Medical Detailed field: Livestock / Animal Husbandry
Source text - English Porcine endemic diarrhea (PED) virus made its way into the US swine population unexpectedly in 2013. That year at the World Pork Expo, Paul Yeske, DVM, of the Swine Vet Center, St. Peter, Minnesota, and I led a meeting stressing the importance and value of elimination. We had little support because there were a lot of unanswered questions.
Nevertheless, PED was a great wakeup call for the industry. It spawned development of the Swine Health Information Center (SHIC) as well as a definition of transboundary agents. It
fostered cooperation with USDA. The industry realized $3.734 million Pork Checkoff dollars for research. Elimination techniques were refined to minimize losses. Thousands of dollars were invested in biosecurity, including erection of truck washes. Research models were developed to evaluate our industry’s risk for entry of foreign animal diseases.
As a result of these efforts, the number of PED cases each winter in the Morrison Swine Health Monitoring Project database remains essentially the same (Figure 1). That might be
considered progress, but I believe it’s time for our industry to take the next step and seriously consider eliminating PED from the national herd.
