Now let´s put some fun into it!

THIS IS WHO I AM

I graduated as a translator and returned to my hometwon with my family. But there was a problem: Internet did not exist yet, and there were few things to translate in my town. 🏝️ Fortunately, I got a clerical job at a local multinational company and, with a good salary and a fine work environment, I was able to adjust.💪

So I had my regular job, but, just for the thrill of it, I would sometimes translate personal documents for individuals or families who wanted to move to other countries or live here, in Argentina.

Time went by, and I began to feel my call again (translations). But whenever I thought of leaving, people would tell me: “This is a dream job” or “Some people would kill for that job”. Praying that nobody would sneak up on me to finish me off, I became a witness of my own inaction. Seating in from of my PC, hatching the idea of a change, my resilience came to an end.📉

🎬At last, I could see the solution right there:  movie subtitles.🍿

The company bought me off, and I devoted myself to a 4-month subtitle specialization course.

My Plan B was on the move, and I began working.😊 But I could not make ends meet and felt that there was something else to tap into.  Some good advice led me to study creative writing, which made perfect sense for I´ve always been the one in charge of writing things down.

And I felt that, when I wrote (as well as when I translated), my chest would swell up in excitement.💣 Besides, all this writing thing opened my mind, and I became more creative when translating stuff.

But writing was just a hobby.

I then started a proofreading course in Spanish: I walked on the springboard, jumped up and dove into the water. But the swimming pool was empty. That area of linguistics turned to be useful though quite boring.

So I left the pool filling up until I could find something that would grow my chest in joy and pride.

📡In the end, the word “copywriting” crossed paths with me.

I began studying what that writing-for-selling thing was, and felt that my chest would grow so big that the buttons in my shirt would fly off and hit my mother in the eye.

And although I was afraid that the water would be green already, I walked on the springboard, jumped up and nailed my best dive ever.💦

Currently, I work as a diver.

Because I love it, I enjoy it.

And I dive into each translation or copywriting project as if it were the last one.

(Oh, I hope you know I´m kidding. I´m a translator and a copywriter).
