I grew up concurrently in Canada and Slovakia, flying back and forth between the two countries every year and obtaining my high school diplomas from both countries. Because of this I consider both Slovak and English to be my native language, and have been translating, interpreting, and localizing between the two since I was a child. At 12 years old I began studying in Canada in the French Immersion program. I studied in France for several months and continued to study in French throughout my Bachelor in Biology at the University of Ottawa. Thanks to my strong academic background I am able to translate complex technical and scientific documents. I have also taken courses in editing for business and technology and able to provide editing services and proofreading to translated documents. Apart from science, I am also passionate about literature and the arts, and have had my nose stuck in a book since I first learned how to read. I write fiction and creative non-fiction and aim to maintain the nuances of an author's style when translating literary pieces. |
