A partir dos resultados deste estudo foi possível caracterizar alguns aspectos específicos relacionados às autoagressões e tentativa de suicídio entre idosos na população avaliada. Verificou-se que a maioria dos utiliza medicamentos como meio para o suicídio, principalmente o álcool, chumbinho e psicoativos.
Considera-se necessário voltar o olhar para a população idosa no que concerne as causas externas, por autoagressão e tentativa de suicídio. Elaborando, portanto, uma estratégia para promover ações de prevenção efetivas e oferecer serviços especializados para os grupos de maior risco (pardos, pessoas com menor escolaridade, homens).
Translation - English Final considerations:
From the results of this study, it was possible to characterize some specific aspects related to self-mutilation and suicide attempts in the elderly of the evaluated population. It was found that most drugs used as a means of suicide were mainly alcohol, poison, and psychoactive.
It is considered necessary to contemplate the elderly population, with regard to the external causes of self-harm and attempted suicide. Therefore, developing a strategy to promote effective preventive actions and offer specialized services to most risk groups (brown races, people with less education, and men).
