Spanish to English: The countercultural rupture among the publication of Cerdos&Peces (“Pigs&Fishes” in English) as an expression of the abject cosmopolitanism after the dictatorship in Argentina. General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Poetry & Literature
Translation - English The purpose of this article is to create a sort of collage with different concepts taken from the abject cosmopolitanism of Bruce Robbins (1998), specially the concept that takes nationalism as the ideal image of death in this century. The word “cosmopolitan”, according to Bruce Robbins, immediately evokes an image of privilege: someone who claims to have a status of “citizen of the world” based on his independence, his preferences and his mobility without restrictions. Based on this idea, then, the representation of a distancing cosmopolitanism arises, rejoining the national awareness with the processes of globalization. Also, this article deals with some of the topics that Silviano Santiago (2004) presents in “Cosmopolitism of Poor People”. Likewise, the idea is to add some concepts of cosmopolitanism given by Stuart Hall (1996), as regards subordinate cosmopolitanism, in order with the ideas that this author suggests. This collage is created to give a new significance to the enunciation without class, without measure, without nation and without state that the magazine Cerdos&Peces (“Pigs&Fishes”) provoked, as an enunciated rupture in the democratic transition in Argentina. This article was part of a master’s study and it was evaluated by Dr. Mariano Siskind, within the framework of his workshop “Post-global and non-cosmopolitan: crisis and displacements of what is not longer part of the world”, held in The University of Rosario, in 2017.
