Source text - English Jane and Grace are resting after a morning cutting grass for
their animals. They are talking about life, their work, and their
families. Last year, together with some of their friends, they formed a
small savings club. Each member contributes a small amount of
money every month. Then they rotate the money among the
members. The money is also used for emergencies or special
expenditures. Weddings, funerals, or school fees are some
examples of those expenditures.
Translation - Swahili Jane na Grace wanapumzika baada ya asubuhi walipokuwa
wakikata nyasi kwa ajili ya wanyama wao. Wanaongea kuhusu
maisha, kazi zao, na familia zao. Mwaka uliopita, pamoja na baadhi
ya marafiki zao, waliunda klabu ndogo ya akiba. Kila mwanachama
huchangia kiasi kidogo cha fedha kila mwezi. Kisha wanazungusha
fedha miongoni mwa wanachama. Fedha pia hutumiwa kwa dharura
au matumizi maalum. Harusi, mazishi, au ada za shule ni baadhi ya
mifano ya matumizi hayo.

Bio
Growing up, schooling, and working in several countries have skilled me in English and Swahili languages, elevating them to levels of "native" to me.
Extensive work in broadcast journalism and Education delivery necessitated the employment of these languages on a daily basis, both casually and professionally.
A Masters degree in Communication Practice earned in-residence from the University of Wales, whilst stationed at Oxford, UK.
The Tanzanian landscape affords me continual opportunity to grow with Swahili as it gains ground in world lingua.
