English to Croatian: O Haškoj konvenciji - izvadak General field: Other Detailed field: International Org/Dev/Coop
Source text - English The Hague Conference on Private International Law ("HCHH") is the global intergovernmental organisation fro cross-border co-operation in civil and commercial matters. The Organisation currently has 65 Member States, and will soon also include the European Community in addition to the EC Member States, all of which are already Members of the HCCH. Since 1951 it has drawn up 36 multilateral treaties (Conventions) in many subject areas, including transnational administrative and legal co-operation, and family and family property relations. These Conventions have proven to be extremely valuable by providing legal security to citizens as they move across borders, as increasingly they do. More than 120 States are party to one or more Hague Conventions.
Translation - Croatian Haška konferencija o privatnom međunarodnom pravu ("HCCH" / Hague Conference on Private International Law) je svjetska međuvladina organizacija za prekograničnu suradnju u građanskim i trgovinskim pitanjima. Od 1951. napravili smo nacrte 36 multilateralnih sporazuma (konvencija) u mnogim predmetnim područjima, uključujući međudržavnu administrativnu i pravnu suradnju, obitelj i obiteljske vlasničke odnose.
Translation - English In Croatia, the interest for understanding conflicts and the ways for their constructive solution has been increasingly growing in the last ten years. To a great extent, it is owed to the war, but also to the increased level of violence within the society during the postwar period; starting from violence in partners’ relationships, family violence, violence among pupils in schools, all the way to violence in streets, and in local communities. At the same time, this has been followed by raising the general awareness about conflicts, which emanated from theoretical explanations of their origin and development, as well as about the ways in which they can be resolved and the practical implementation of those understandings in everyday life situations. Thus, for example, there is already a well-developed practice of mediation in case of divorce, legal mediation, mediation in public debates, mediation between juvenile delinquents and their victims (Ajduković, 1994.). Therefore, not only theoreticians, but researchers and aides-practitioners, and even conflict participants as well, show interest in conflicts as fact of our social life.

A couple of words about me: I hold an MA degree in English Language and Literature and MA in Linguistics and I have years-long experience in providing interpretation and translation services. I have built my professional experience around high-profile projects, many of which have been international.
For four years, I worked as a full-time translator and interpreter for the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (UNICTY), covering the following languages: English, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, and Macedonian (with thorough knowledge of both Serbian and Macedonian Cyrillic script). Those are my working languages.
Please note that I am a proficient user of various CAT tools (SDL Trados Studio 2019, MemoQ, Memrise, Memsource, Deja Vu X) or various cloud platforms, so I have accumulated significant experience in translation, editing, and post-editing i.e. working on those platforms.
Since the completion of the said projects, I have been translating and interpreting for various Croatian and international clients as a freelance translator and interpreter.
Other services I provide are transcription, transcreation, localization, and voiceover. My experience in performing versatile professional roles throughout the years enables me to shift with ease between various registers. I have also been providing services of RSI (Remote Simultaneous Interpretation) since the beginning of the pandemic via various online platforms like Zoom and Interprefy. I have completed the necessary trainings and have the most modern audio equipment for such tasks.
I work fast without compromising the quality of the delivered work.
