Elvire
Geraldine Akouala [email protected] 202-705-9058 My name is Elvire
Geraldine Akouala. I am a French and Lingala native of the Republic of Congo (Congo-Brazzaville),
I’ve been interpreter since the age of 15. I started this back to my country at
my church as French and Lingala interpreter and I became a French and English
interpreter here in the United States in 2007 after we all moved in the US as a
family. I continued as interpreter and then moved forward to as translator a
translator in 2011. I am currently working as a Healthcare Interpreter Contractor
and Over the Phone Interpreter, and I am still performing this expertise as interpreter
at my church. I started as a volunteer
translator at church and immigration or refugee centers in different areas such
as translating immigration and government documents like affidavit,
certificates and many more; I’ve been working in the field of interpreter and
translator since. Translation and interpretation
have been my passion, because I always dreamed in helping people especially the
one in need and would like to achieve their goal or be successful by breaking
the barriers due to language limitation. I am so happy in doing this work and I
always dream of going further and being able to speak and understand different
languages even the Sign Language so I am might able to help the needy. Interpreter and
translator to me is not just a mean of making money, but it is also a way that
God applies to help other by using those who are available to work for him and help
the needy. |
