Source text - English In today’s challenge lesson we’re going to talk about Excellence, about your commitment to excellence. Let’s begin by defining excellence. I want you to think of it as the process of continually growing and improving yourself in every aspect of your life.
Excellence entails achievement and accomplishing goals that have been measured by constantly asking this one question: is what I’m doing truly reflective of a life committed to excellence? So your greatest responsibility is defining excellence in your life then to choose the best course of action in order to make it happen. Excellence is not a relative term, it is the standard by which you must judge everything that you do, that’s important: it is the standard by which you must judge everything that you do. Some people perpetually create for themselves conditions for their own dissatisfaction but to achieve excellence and to skip the mushroom cloud of mediocrity, you must, as in this second, quit doing less than excellent work, now there’s a profound idea.
Mediocrity is a choice that is not always made consciously but it is still a choice and anything less than a commitment to excellence is a compromise of talent, quality and standards which results in nothing more than mediocrity. You commit career malpractice every time you do things in a mediocre manner, every time you show up late for a meeting and every time you are unprepared. There is absolutely no inherent meaning in mediocrity. There is no reason for people to stop and pay attention, nothing worth bragging about at all. Being world class has nothing to do with size, education or blood line but it has everything to do with decision, with commitment, action and persistence.

Par conséquent votre plus grande responsabilité est de définir ce qu’est l’excellence dans votre vie, puis de choisir la meilleure chose à faire pour le réaliser. L’excellence n’est pas un mot relatif, c’est un principe par lequel vous devez juger toute chose que vous faites. C’est important : L’excellence c’est un principe par lequel vous devez juger toute chose que vous faites. Des personnes créent eux-mêmes des conditions qui les poussent à être insatisfaits. Mais pour atteindre l’excellence et pour éviter un nuage de champignon atomique de médiocrité, vous devez à partir de ce moment précis arrêter de faire moins qu’excellent. Maintenant il y a une profonde idée.
On choisit d’être médiocre, peut-être pas consciemment, mais ça reste tout de même un choix. Et tous ce qui est en dessous du dévouement pour l’excellence est un compromis envers le talent, la qualité et les principes dont le résultat n’est autre que la médiocrité. Vous dénigrer votre carrière si vous faites les choses avec médiocrité, chaque fois que vous arrivez en retard pour une réunion et à chaque fois que vous n’êtes pas prêt. Il n’y a absolument pas une signification indissociable dans la médiocrité. Il n’y a pas de raison de s’arrêter et de faire attention à quelque chose qui ne mérite même pas d’être montré. Etre d’une classe mondiale n’a rien avoir avec l’opulence, l’éducation ni de lignée. Etre d’une classe mondiale ça concerne les décisions, le dévouement, l’action et la persistance.

native, I have worked for many years as a professional translator of books, Web
articles, Video and Web sites, mostly from English to Malagasy and French and
vice versa.
I am also a Malagasy language consultant offering a variety of services
in Malagasy, such as giving training in translation and interpreting, as well
as certifying any documents translated from a specific language to Malagasy and
vice versa. I am also a member of a National Association of Translators and
Interpreters in Madagascar and I am appointed as a accreditation authority for
Malagasy translators and interpreters.
