Source text - English Every young person has rights related to their body and sexuality.
It’s important to know your rights! When you know your rights and the rights of others, it’s easier to know what’s okay and not okay.
These rights are stated in international human rights policies– meaning governments are duty bound to uphold these rights and that they apply to all human beings in all settings, including in a crisis or
disaster.
Some of these rights are also protected by the law. Sometimes your family, relatives or other adults don’t follow the law or these
international human rights. They might not know what rights you have
as a young person, they might not care about it or the beliefs and values in the community might speak against these rights. People might think they’re doing what is best for you, even if it’s wrong and violates your rights. Social, cultural and religious norms often
impact what people think are your rights, sometimes positively and sometimes negatively.
Translation - Spanish Todas las personas jóvenes tienen derechos relacionados con su cuerpo y su sexualidad. ¡Es importante que los conozcas! Cuando conoces tus derechos y los de las demás personas es más fácil
distinguir qué está bien y qué no.
Estos derechos están establecidos en las políticas internacionales de derechos humanos, lo que significa que los gobiernos tienen la obligación de velar por ellos y su aplicación a todos los seres humanos en todos los contextos, incluidas las crisis o los desastres.
