I am a native Norwegian living in London, UK. I've lived abroad in English-speaking countries for more than 12 years.
I grew up on the Norwegian west coast and have attended primary school and secondary school in Norway. At school, we were thought both Norwegian Nynorsk and Norwegian Bokmål. I'm from Sunnmøre which is the birthplace of the Norwegian Nynorsk language, this is therefore a language that is close to my heart and I enjoy taking on projects in Nynorsk.
Norwegian Bokmål is used daily by more than 80% of the population in Norway. Therefore, I am highly proficient in Bokmål as well and often take on projects where I will translate English text into both Nynorsk and Bokmål.
I currently live in the United Kingdom with my English husband and child. We are raising our son to be bilingual so we speak both English and Norwegian at home every day. We travel back home to Norway at least 3 times a year.
Since the start of my career as a professional translator, I have completed the following projects.
English to Norwegian Bokmål projects completed: 860
English to Norwegian Nynorsk projects completed: 389
I am a bit of a "potato" translator as we say in Norwegian and take on translations in a wide variety of subjects!
However, I am a trained medical professional who has worked in public health programming and academic research for the past 10 years. I hold a BSc in Biomedical Sciences and an MSc in Medical Entomology for Disease Control. I, therefore, take on a range of medical projects, including EMA documents, QRD templates, and Dossier/Submissions.
I look forward to hearing from you!
