I won a scholarship in modern languages to King's College Cambridge in 1968, and gained a 2:1 in Part 1 of the Modern Languages degree (German and Russian), before switching subject to Social Anthropology where I hold a MA Cantab.
I have spent my working life as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation, including translating and proofreading within the education charity Maharishi Foundation. My wife is Dutch with perfect English, and we undertake Dutch-English translations together, in addition to German, Russian and French which I do on my own.
In my spare time I play the piano: for my own enjoyment, and as accompanist at local church services. |
