The Good, The Bad and The Writer/Producer
Being born in the 80’s, a game changing decade in both the fashion and gaming world- these left an imprint on my lifestyle choices. Although less likely to be seen wearing corduroy dungarees, my insatiable hunger for both playing and understanding the ins and outs of all media I consume has only strengthened. Such curiosity has bled over into my professional career.
Producing anything takes drive, patience and attention to detail; such a mind-set has aided me in managing customers, work peers, family and friends expectations like Chief Engineer O’Brien for years (the Star Trek Next Generation reference just had to be made).
Whilst living in Amsterdam, for a mere 18 years, I interviewed artists, musicians and covered cultural events. I was the project manager for the very 1st Street Art festival in Amsterdam (ASA 2009), I also helped organize many an art exposition for upcoming artists that needed a boost. Such work would often see me working with people and in areas outside of my expertise. Nonetheless, I enjoy the challenge of pushing my boundaries to sharpen my senses and continually bring in a fresh perspective.
Furthering that thought, I like to push myself professionally with more dynamic and creative projects and I know that I’m a great asset, most notably for the following reasons:
• Renaissance Man: I have vast experience in IT, gaming and human factors. I can cook a mean chili con carne and I’m also deadly with a yo-yo.
• Obsessive within reason. I’m not crazy or anything - I just like a product to be as good as possible and I’ve been known to go through as much iteration as I need to make that happen- Time permitting, of course. I know the world is full of deadlines.
• Geek. I love to observe my surroundings and the people around me and figure out what makes them tick. I constantly look for new ways of working, new programs, new sites and new methodologies. I don’t let my tools slow me down though.
