Source text - English O saber da experiência, como construção única, não replicável e indissociável do sujeito, tanto quanto os conhecimentos advindos de práticas sociais, reivindica seu espaço na construção da cultura escolar. Outra prática social que deve ser considerada na construção do conhecimento compartilhado na escola é a linguagem, prática social que vai além dos conteúdos fragmentados. Silva (1998) elabora três teses sobre o ensino da leitura nas escolas brasileiras. A primeira seria de que todo professor, independente da disciplina que leciona, é um professor de leitura. A segunda seria a de que imaginação criadora e fantasia não são exclusividade das aulas de literatura. A terceira defende que as sequências integradas de textos são pré-requisitos básicos à formação do leitor, e vincula-se às duas primeiras porque exige a integração do corpo docente como condição de implementação de um programa de leitura previamente estruturado.
Translation - Portuguese Experience-knowledge, as a unique, non-repeatable construction, which is indissociable from the subject-person, as are knowledges derived from social practices, thus claims its space in the con-struction of school culture. Another social practice that must be considered in the construction of the knowledge shared in school is language, a social practice that goes beyond fragmented contents. Silva (1998) elaborates three theories on teaching how to read in Brazilian schools. The first one is that every teacher, regardless of the course they teach, is a reading teacher. The second one is that creative imagination and fantasy are not exclusively related to literature classes. The third defends that integrated text sequences are basic prerequisites to forming the reader, and it is linked to the two former theories because it requires the integration of the teaching staff as a condition to imple-menting a previously structured reading program.

I am a translator and a former English professor. I have a Master's degree in English Literature by the University of São Paulo (USP). I have the Certificate of Proficiency in English granted by the University of Cambridge – Local Examinations Syndicate. I have worked as a translator since 2004, with texts ranging from Marketing, Biology, Oceanography, healthcare, and other technical areas, to literature and poetry. I am also very experienced in translating and proofreading academic articles, dissertations, and abstracts. In addition, I worked as a proofreader for Editora Elsevier, a publisher of healthcare books and journals, from 2012 to 2017. I worked as a proofreader for Editora Phoenix another publisher of healthcare books and journals, since 2016. I have been a member of the translation/proofreading team for Khan Academy (in the area of Mathematics) since 2014. I am a member of ABRATES (Brazilian Association of Translators). I have written a book, Inglês para Comércio Exterior (English for International Trade) published by Disal in 2012.
