After working for thirty years in
industry and education I decided to amalgamate my skills and experience and
completed an MA with Merit in Translation Studies at the University of Portsmouth in 2015.
I translate a wide variety of texts from German and Swedish into English, with a special interest in air accident investigation reports and safety issues in transport. I also have six years of solid experience in translating medical and dental insurance claims, surgical reports, lab test results, and medical assessments, Such translations have been handled on a daily basis under tight deadlines.
My goal is to produce a readable text in clear, unambiguous English. I adapt the translation to meet the requirements and style of the audience that it is written for, whether they are experts in their field or members of the general public. Hence my tagline of "neat solutions".
I am an active Associate (AITI) member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, the West Midlands regional group, the German network, the Scandinavian network, and the specialist medical network.
What some of my customers have said about my work:
Eva Bilanova, Lead Project Manager at Jonckers and based in the Czech Republic:
"Very precise translation, professional and good communication", "absolutely no problem with meeting all the deadlines", "huge experiences with medical content", "technical experiences on the top level".
Marie Guillet, Project Manager at LinguaVox and based in Spain:

We have never received any complaint from our clients regarding his translations and neither have we detected any kind of issue during out internal quality control procedures. Clive is quick to react, available for his clients and always willing to clarify any query the client may have. Great professional and nice person to work with!"
