Bio

Native Italian linguist working as a localisation coordinator at 20th Century Fox, managing the subtitling and dubbing workflow of trailers and films for the theatrical release.

Formerly a trainee translator at the European Parliament in Luxembourg, Barbara Schirru has translated EU-related documents, minutes and agendas from English and German into Italian using Trados and other CAT tools, glossaries and databases.

She has been working as a freelance translator since 2011, while also covering coordination and customer-oriented positions in both the private and public sector, thus developing strong organisational and project management skills.

Having proudly dedicated her whole life to the study and fostering of foreign languages and cultures and, more recently, being involved in the fascinating world of film making, her multicultural orientation has always had a pivotal role in every work experience she has been engaged in.
