From a very young age, I’ve been fascinated by language. Reading my first books, it was clear to me that words, when used by talented writers, had the power to transport us to different and interesting places. That was quite a while back. However, the fascination remains. Words have the power to inform, build worlds, connect people and present us places and cultures that we wouldn’t have access to otherwise.
As I grew up and started to learn about languages and writing it also became evident the importance of translators. Translators act as communicators, as a bridge through which knowledge and information are transported from one culture to another. A good translation doesn’t sound like a translation; it sounds like it was originally written in the target language. It was with that in mind that I became I translator, educator, and writer: so that I could help bring people and cultures together.
