I grew up in a Spanish bilingual Puerto Rican household and have always had aspirations to learn more languages and learn more about other countries and cultures. After being downsized in 2009 from yet another Administrative clerical position, I changed careers to pursue my passion and complete my Spanish B.A. degree and fell in love with community interpreting first before being mentored to consider working as a phone interpreter. I relocated from Lehigh Valley, PA to St. Petersburg, FL and completed 120 hours of intensive training to become a medical interpreter while also learning financial, legal, education, utilities, and hospitality terminology. I had also gained some experience interpreting educational conferences as well as parent-teacher conferences during my Senior year of college so I am comfortable both with consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. I have also worked with translation of documents from English to Spanish from meeting minutes, to flyers, correspondence, an 350 page autobiography, and technical manuals to name a few. I am available for document translation projects and can offer reasonable quotes with fairly good turnaround time. I am also available for on-site interpretation projects or over the phone interpretation for meeting or conferences at reasonable rates by bids and on a contract basis. I am looking forward to providing great service experience to prospective clients out there! |
