After my Master in “Traduction Spécialisée Multilingue” (Multilingual specialized translation) at the University of Lille 3, which belongs to the network of the European Master of Translation (EMT) from the European Commission, I chose to work as a freelance translator.
Why?
On one hand I would like to put my knowledge in the service of many people and on the other hand satisfy my interest in many topics.
I was able to gain valuable knowledge of the language and the culture through long stays and internships abroad, especially in Germany. I translated an exhibition about a former prisoner of war camp, among other things. In addition, I also provide expertise in the translation of documents related to disability and associated technical helps. This area is very rarely translated, although it should deserve more attention and a wider exposure according to all those people concerned.
My idea of the translation
Most important to me is that everyone – despite any language barriers – gets access to the same information. Translation makes it possible to eliminate potential differences and set every person to an equal footing. Also, getting linguistically correct, proof-read documents is important to the customer.
For these reasons, I have founded Alltradix in the area of Lille, in the heart of Europe, to benefit from an appropriate location for international exchange and translation, and at the same time to put the French language in the foreground.
