Bio
An extensive knowledge of both English and Spanish, college degrees in Business Administration and Architecture and an extremely diversified international career, makes me a highly qualified and versatile translator/interpreter.
My work history -- spanning almost 40 years -- includes accounting, banking and finance, public administration, travel and tourism, hotel industry, architecture, construction and real estate development, journalism and freelance writing, travel writing, graphic arts, marketing and advertising, print and digital publishing, among other fields. This makes me a generalist capable of tackling linguistic jobs in many different industries.
Having lived and worked in the United States and Canada for about 8 years, I acquired a strong level of fluency in English -- both written and oral. Today I still use English every day in my work and personal life.
For over 30 years I have been a business/travel writer and publisher, both in English and Spanish. My articles have appeared in local and international media, including some high profile publications. Currently I publish English language articles in my own website and elsewhere on the web. This drives me to constantly expand my vocabulary and become more versatile with the language.
I have been working intermittently as a translator/interpreter since I was a student. This was typically a sideline job for me. However, in recent years it has become my main occupation.
As I become more proficient at (consecutive) oral interpretation, I have been doing more and more work in that field.
My main clients are business travelers visiting my country. I have also interpreted for an American multinational company's annual convention as well as for the U.S., British and South African embassies on assignments as varied as conferences, trade missions and military workshops.
