Source text - English ENVISION 4.7: ROADMAP IN SUPPORT OF SDG TARGET 4.7
1. Preamble
We, the participants of the Envision 4.7 event held in Helsinki, 6th
and 7th November 2019, wish to contribute to the achievement
of Target 4.7 of the universal Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs). Urgent action is required in Europe to meet our responsibilities to reach this target.
We call on the European Union, Council of Europe and European
countries to be forerunners in adopting and implementing
policies which respect human rights and address key global
challenges of the 21st century, such as climate change, poverty,
inequality, resource depletion and quality of life. In the adoption
of such policies, we envisage the implementation of transformative
education for sustainable development as a life-long learning
process and a public good: promoting change and the necessary
development of individuals, communities and systems. Transformative education fosters engaged, active and critical learners
and builds constructive and democratic approaches to difference.
Situated in and responsive to local contexts, transformative
education for sustainable development requires both learning
and unlearning by participants.
Actions to reach SDG Target 4.7 are fundamental to achieving the
SDGs by assisting people, communities, and state and non-state
entities to fully assume their responsibilities as actors in a single
interdependent world. In Europe, this involves addressing the
global issues directly linked to our local contexts and exploring
how as individuals and societies we can act to tackle broader
issues and resolve complex problems.
The implementation of Target 4.7 can build on existing commitments
across Europe4 that recognise the positive role of different
forms of education in families, schools, workplaces and elsewhere,
and throughout the lifecycle.
Envision 4.7 has developed the following policy recommendations
and considerations which in the collective opinion of participants,
should form the basis of frameworks supporting life-long
learning linked to sustainable development through formal,
non-formal and informal education.
Translation - French ENVISION 4.7 : FEUILLE DE ROUTE POUR LA MISE EN OEUVRE DE LA CIBLE 4.7 DES ODD
1. Introduction
Nous, participants à l'événement Envision 4.7, qui s’est tenu à Helsinki les 6 et 7 novembre 2019, souhaitons contribuer à la réalisation de la cible 4.7 des Objectifs de développement durable (ODD). Des mesures s'imposent de toute urgence au niveau européen afin d’assumer nos responsabilités dans l’atteinte de cette cible.
Nous appelons l'Union européenne, le Conseil de l'Europe et les pays européens à faire figure de précurseurs par l'adoption et la mise en oeuvre de politiques qui respectent les droits de l'homme et répondent aux grands défis mondiaux du XXIe siècle, tels que le changement climatique, la pauvreté, les inégalités, l'épuisement des ressources naturelles et la qualité de vie. Dans le cadre de l’adoption de ces politiques, nous concevons l'application d'une éducation au développement durable transformatrice comme un processus d'apprentissage tout au long de la vie et un bien public : la promotion du changement et du développement nécessaire des personnes, des communautés et des systèmes. Le concept d'éducation transformatrice favorise un apprentissage engagé, actif et critique, tout en abordant les différences de manière constructive et démocratique. Ancrée dans un contexte local, l'éducation au développement durable transformatrice nécessite à la fois un apprentissage et un désapprentissage chez les participants.
Les actions en faveur de la cible 4.7 sont essentielles à la réalisation des ODD de manière globale. Concrètement, il s'agit d'aider les personnes, communautés et entités étatiques et non étatiques à assumer pleinement leurs responsabilités en tant qu'acteurs d'un seul monde interdépendant. En Europe, cette initiative implique de traiter les questions de portée mondiale directement liées à notre situation locale et d'envisager une démarche à l'échelle individuelle et sociétale vers la résolution de problématiques complexes et de plus grande envergure.
La mise en oeuvre de la cible 4.7 peut tirer parti d'engagements déjà pris à travers l'Europe, qui reconnaissent le rôle positif de différentes formes d'éducation dans un contexte familial, scolaire, professionnel ou autre, et ce tout au long de la vie.
Envision 4.7 a formulé les recommandations et considérations stratégiques suivantes qui, selon les participants, doivent former la base des cadres en faveur d'un apprentissage relatif au développement durable tout au long de la vie, par le biais d'une éducation de type formel, non formel et informel.
